SPEAKING AT THE IOWA NATIONAL GUARD SENDOFF CEREMONY IN COUNCIL BLUFFS On Wednesday, I had the honor of speaking at the send-off ceremony for 178 troops of the Iowa National Guard deploying to the Middle East for a year. Our men and women in uniform are the best of us. We pray for their safe return and thank their families for their unwavering support. HONORING ALS AWARENESS MONTH Last week, I spoke on the House Floor in honor of ALS Awareness Month. Last year, I met with Lori Hermstad from Spencer who tragically lost both of her daughters, Alex and Jaci, to ALS. We will never forget these sisters and we will continue to fight to find a cure for ALS. You can watch my full remarks below. OUR STAFF ATTENDING OTHER IOWA NATIONAL GUARD SENDOFF CEREMONIES This week, our caseworker, Ann, and one of our Regional Directors, Jim, attended Iowa National Guard sendoff ceremonies in Sioux City and Fort Dodge. These brave troops have chosen duty over comfort and service over self. Their decision to serve their country speaks volumes about their character and patriotism. SITTING DOWN WITH MEMBERS OF THE WESTERN IOWA DAIRY ASSOCIATION IN MAURICE On Tuesday, on my 36 County Tour, I held a roundtable discussion with members of the Western Iowa Dairy Association outside of Maurice. From delivering death tax relief to passing a new, five-year Farm Bill, I’ll keep working to serve our Iowa dairy producers. HOLDING A HARRISON COUNTY NATURAL DISASTER ROUNDTABLE IN LITTLE SIOUX On Wednesday, as part of my 36 County Tour, I held a Harrison County Natural Disaster roundtable with local leaders in Little Sioux. Since last April, Harrison County has issued four disaster declarations. I’m committed to working with our communities to better respond to and recover from disasters. MY WEEKLY COLUMN: PRESIDENT TRUMP'S "ONE, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL" DELIVERS FOR IOWA AGRICULTURE More than a week ago, I voted to pass President Trump’s “One, Big, Beautiful Bill,” which will help rebuild American manufacturing, turbocharge our economy, and deliver real tax relief for Iowa families, farmers, and small businesses. As the only member of Congress serving on both the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Agriculture Committee, I played a pivotal role in writing this transformative legislation, ensuring that our families, farmers, and businesses had a seat at the table. Representing the second largest agriculture-producing congressional district in the entire nation, I can say with confidence that this bill will help our farmers and producers grow, succeed, and thrive.
