The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Land Quality Division (LQD), will hold an Advisory Board (AB) Meeting beginning at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, June 19, 2025. The meeting will be held via video conference call. The major items of discussion will be: 1) a presentation of proposed revisions to LQD Noncoal Chapter 6, Financial Assurance. The proposed revisions were drafted in response to a legislative change allowing credit unions to issue irrevocable letters of credit. 2) proposed revisions to the LQD Source Material Program (SMP) rules drafted to address the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s final comments on the draft agreement application and SMP rules. The LQD will be seeking the AB’s advice on whether the proposed rules should proceed to formal rulemaking before the Environmental Quality Council.
