Dear Prosperity Now Community,
Welcome to this month’s newsletter. As I am halfway through my second year leading Prosperity Now, I’m proud of the work we’ve accomplished together and energized by what’s ahead. This newsletter is our way of staying connected to the people, programs, and ideas that are shaping a more stable financial future for everyone.
Whether you’ve been part of our community for years or are just
joining us, thank you. Your partnership fuels our mission to build real pathways to financial security and economic mobility.
We’re scaling up programs that respond directly to what communities need most. Our Good Jobs Initiative is helping technical assistance providers and business advisors advance job quality across the small business sector. Our Growth Business Accelerator (GBA) just graduated its first cohort of 75 participants from 31 Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), each bringing new capacity to serve local entrepreneurs. Through Prosperity Next, we’re supporting CDFIs with tools to streamline operations, expand lending, and adapt to economic change.
Finally, we recently launched our Share Your Story, a campaign that makes space for real people to show how economic policy shows up in everyday life.
All of this work is building toward something bigger. This October, we’ll bring it all together at the 2025 Prosperity Summit in Washington, D.C. Our theme, Together We Thrive, reflects what it takes to build an economy that works for everyone through shared insight, shared action, and shared responsibility. I hope you’ll join us.
Until then, thank you for your partnership.
Marisa Calderon
President & CEO

VITA or TCE? Don’t Let the Wrong Grant Derail Your Tax Program
Not all IRS tax prep grants are the same. If your clients are mostly older adults, or if you're adjusting your outreach strategy, TCE might be a better fit than VITA. But each program has unique rules, reporting needs, and training requirements. Our latest post breaks it all down.

Entrepreneurship
We proudly celebrated the graduation of the inaugural cohort of our Growth Business Accelerator (GBA). This program equips Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and Entrepreneur Support Organizations (ESOs) with the tools to help small businesses scale in emerging markets.
Seventy-five participants from 31 CDFIs across Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Dallas completed the program, gaining specialized training and building new partnerships.
“The GBA program was hands down one of the BEST professional education programs I have ever attended... I can't recommend this program enough and am excited to implement all the actionable training we learned!”
Toni V. Martin, Founder, Systems to Success.
