I’ve been traveling across Texas this week for my end-of-month listening tour and I have to say – I’m genuinely inspired by the conversations I’ve had.

This week I visited Eagle Pass, a border town that’s felt the devastating impact of Trump’s tariffs, rising prices, and the attacks on Americans’ fundamental rights.

But despite the pain people are feeling, they remain hopeful for the future of our state and country. And I’m grateful for the chance to talk about how we can build an infrastructure of opportunity for all Texans – including those in South Texas that have often been neglected by politicians in Washington and our statewide Republican leaders.

When my grandmother came to the U.S. as an orphan in 1922, Eagle Pass was where she was allowed to enter and where she was given hope for a new life. I’ll always be grateful to this incredible border community – and it was an honor to be made an honorary resident!

But far too many communities like these are hurting thanks to the extreme agenda of Donald Trump and Republican politicians in Texas. That’s why I’m taking the case directly to Texans.
