In this email, I’m going to personally ask you to chip in $3 toward our end-of-month fundraising goal. This race is heating up fast, so I hope you’ll let me get you up to speed and explain why your support is so urgent today.

I’ve faced tough re-election battles before: Last year we defeated a self-funded opponent by our slimmest margin ever. This time, Republicans are starting their attacks early – and my declared opponent has become the highest-raising GOP challenger in the country.

And don’t just take my word for it: Earlier this month, FairVote rated CA-49 a "toss-up" . Republicans are looking to keep their extreme majority by flipping this seat red.

This is deeply concerning. It’s why we need to mobilize to fund our year-round voter engagement programs and get the word out about the importance of this race.

As you know, I refuse to accept even a cent of corporate PAC donations – because my duty is to the people I was elected to serve, not special interests. But it makes fundraising that much harder.

Can I count on your support with $3 toward my end-of-month goal? Every dollar will immediately be put to work defending vulnerable seats like CA-49 from the MAGA majority and keep me in Congress fighting for you.
