1. Let’s Make Health Happen

Twenty-two years ago, Dr. Aníbal Quijano and the Americares team had a dream to bring quality health care to the remote mountains of Usulután, El Salvador. Today, that dream is real: La Clínica Integral de Atención Familiar, Americares Family Clinic, where Dr. Quijano serves as medical director.

Victoria, the mother in our video, had a dream too – to care for her children and watch them grow. With your support, we're able to make dreams become reality every day.

2. Responding: Deadly Tornadoes in U.S. Midwest and South

Tornadoes and severe storms ripped through the Midwest and South earlier this month, claiming more than two dozen lives and damaging thousands of homes and buildings. In the storm’s wake, Americares emergency response team contacted over 60 partner organizations in the hardest-hit areas to offer our support. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve been able to deliver over 1,400 pounds of medicine and relief supplies for tornado survivors including hygiene kits, infant formula and chronic disease medicines.

3. Ongoing Response: Mt. Kanlaon Volcano Eruption

After erupting in December and forcing thousands of people to flee their homes, Mt. Kanlaon in the Philippines was active once again this month – prompting more evacuations. Since December, Americares emergency response teams have been working to distribute hygiene kits and N95 masks. To ease the stress of trauma and loss, Americares deployed a mental health and psychosocial team, which provided activities for adults and more than 500 children at three evacuation centers. We are also partnering with local health clinics to provide nebulizers and oxygen regulators.
