I regularly talk with Pat about our progress toward hitting our quarterly fundraising target, and hitting monthly goals are essential to steady fundraising strength. Now, we are gearing up to strategically map out the last month of this fundraising quarter (hard to believe we’re already so close to our second quarterly deadline!)

I wanted to loop you in before I talk to Pat because this grassroots team really showed up for us in the first quarter and helped us exceed our goal.

But to be transparent, we’ve seen a decline in online fundraising this quarter, and even more so this month. We’re already hearing about potential opponents sniffing around this campaign, and if our showing this quarter is less impressive than last quarter’s, they might see it as an opening to flip this seat red.

But ensuring our show of strength means staying on track with our monthly fundraising goals as well. We’re a little behind where I would like to be for May, but we have 24 hours to make up the gap.

And because Pat doesn’t accept corporate PAC money to his campaign, grassroots donors chipping in $5 and $10 at a time really do help us hit these critical goals and, more importantly, fund our investments in communicating with voters and ensuring Pat can keep working for the Hudson Valley.

That’s why I am reaching out today: We can’t lose any momentum and a stream of grassroots donations is how we will hit our goal. Can you chip in any amount before our May fundraising deadline at midnight tomorrow?
