This week, I hosted a roundtable discussion with Planned Parenthood in Portland — and I left heartbroken and furious.

House Republicans just passed a brutal budget bill that would slash Medicaid, gut the Affordable Care Act, and strip away $5.2 million in federal funding from Planned Parenthood of Northern New England.

If this becomes law, Mainers across our state — especially in rural communities — will lose access to cancer screenings, primary care, contraception, and more.

Clinics in Portland, Biddeford, Topsham, and Sanford are all at risk. That’s not a talking point. It’s a real threat. And Republicans know exactly what they’re doing: targeting states like Maine where abortion is legal and trying to shut us down.

I won’t let them.

But the only way we stop this is by flipping the House — and we can’t afford to wait. We’re up against billionaires who are stripping healthcare to pay for huge tax cuts for themselves, and I’m counting on grassroots supporters like you to help us fight back.
