By just a single vote, House Republicans passed a sweeping provision that would bar states from enforcing any laws regulating artificial intelligence (AI) – for the next decade.

Tucked into Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” this measure bulldozes state authority – BANNING states from tackling urgent AI threats like deep fakes, biased algorithms, and privacy violations.
