Every time I take a vote in the Senate, I’m not thinking about how to please big businesses or special interests. I’m thinking about how I can get to work for you.

The only question on my mind when I’m voting is, “Does this serve the people of Colorado?”

That’s been my philosophy from the beginning. I didn’t get into politics to serve myself or the highest bidder – I first ran for Mayor of Denver because I was running the Wynkoop brewpub downtown and saw the voices of everyday Coloradans weren’t being heard.

That’s why I refuse to accept a single cent of corporate PAC money, because the only boss I have are Colorado’s voters, not special interests looking to buy political support.

But that makes me a top target for National Republicans. They’ve been eyeing my seat to expand their Senate majority, and they’re gearing up to spend millions of dollars to take me down.

I may not have corporate PAC money, but I have something better: this grassroots team. Please, can I count on you to chip in to my campaign before our end-of-month deadline on Saturday? Anything you can spare will help me defend this seat from whatever the GOP throws my way, and help Democrats take back the Senate. →
