Last week I announced my re-election campaign and it didn’t take long for the GOP establishment to start ramping up their attacks against me.

This week, national Republicans have launched a brand new advertising campaign criticizing me for voting to protect Medicaid. And Paul LePage? He’s piling on with more of the same-old tired attacks.

This kind of negative campaigning is exactly what turns people off from politics — especially 18 months before the next election. If Paul LePage doesn’t have anything to run on besides attacking me, maybe he should have stayed in retirement.
