Dear Friend,

Last week, I voted a resounding NO on the Trump-Republican budget. This cruel plan strips healthcare and food assistance from millions of seniors, children, veterans, and working families.

Budgets reflect values, and Republicans showed they value billionaires over the men and women who build, serve, and sustain this country every day. This Trump-Republican scam was rushed through in the dead of night for a reason: they know they’ve betrayed the American people. Their cuts to home and long-term care put lives at risk, especially for our seniors.

How dare they try to rip away basic rights from the people who we were elected to serve. I want you to know that we will fight back.

Breaking down the Big Ugly Bill

Rep. Norcross speaks with constituents at a recent town hall in Gloucester City.

The Trump-Republican Scam will result in:

The biggest loss of healthcare coverage in American history. The Trump-Republican budget includes $500 billion in cuts to Medicare, threatening access to care for millions of seniors across the country. It would cause nearly 14 million Americans to lose their health insurance while driving up out-of-pocket costs for Medicaid recipients—including veterans, people with disabilities, and low-income families.

At the same time, it delivers the deepest cuts to food assistance ever, stripping SNAP benefits from 3 million people and putting free school meals out of reach for up to 18.3 million children.

And while working families are asked to pay more for groceries, healthcare, and energy, the ultra-wealthy get a windfall. Someone making over $1 million a year would get an $82,000 tax break, while the average family would see just $1,000.

This isn’t just irresponsible—it’s a betrayal of the very people who make this country work.

Delivered $650,000 EPA Brownfield Grant to Improve Quality of Life in Camden

Image

Clean air, safe neighborhoods, and access to green spaces aren’t luxuries—they’re necessities. That’s why I voted to pass the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act: to create jobs, improve public health, and enhance the quality of life for families in South Jersey. Brownfield grants have played a significant role in this effort, especially in Camden City, by cleaning up polluted sites and transforming them into parks, housing, and community spaces.

I helped secure an additional $650,000 in EPA Brownfields funding for the Camden Redevelopment Agency to continue this work. This investment will support the revitalization of key sites, including Elijah Perry Park, the Knox Gelatin property, Judge Johnson Park, and the former West Jersey Paper Manufacturing site, transforming long-neglected land into lasting assets for our neighborhoods.

Traveling this summer?

Image

As we head into the busy summer travel season, my office wants to share some travel reminders with you:

  • Starting earlier this month, you will need a REAL ID or another federally accepted form of identification, such as a U.S. Passport, to board domestic flights and enter certain federal buildings.
  • Even if your passport is valid now, if it expires within six months of the time you will be traveling, you should consider renewing it now. Many countries require passports to have at least six months validity remaining in order to enter. Check travel.state.gov/destination to see what your destination requires.
  • Before traveling internationally, check what your health insurance plan includes and get travel health insurance to cover any unexpected medical emergencies.
  • If your passport is lost or stolen abroad, contact the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate for assistance. Look up their contact info at usembassy.gov/
If you need to fly and do not have an up-to-date U.S. Passport, our office may be able to assist you.   Please remember that passport appointments are only accepted within two weeks of a travel date and aren’t always guaranteed.  It is best to apply for or renew your passport at least 3 to 6 months before you plan to travel.  If you need assistance, you can fill out this Privacy Release Form so our team can begin trying to assist you.
