Team,
In just a few moments, I am going to ask you to make a grassroots donation. I hope you'll give me a chance to explain why this request is so important — especially today.
As you may know, when I was a child, I had a severe illness that put me in the hospital for three months. Even though I fully recovered, my grandparents, who raised me, were unable to get me insurance at any price because I had this previous illness.
Like over 100 million Americans, I know what it’s like to have the label “pre-existing condition” attached to my care — and before the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was passed, many of us could be denied coverage.
So, you can imagine my frustration at Republicans lying through their teeth about this disastrous budget bill, which would roll back ACA subsidies and threaten Americans’ access to affordable health care.
They claim that their bill won’t touch Medicaid, but if it moves forward, 14 million Americans will see their health care terminated. I’ve heard from just a few of the over one million Wisconsinites on Medicaid who could be impacted, and what they shared has stuck with me.
Many were worried about how they would keep their children safe without the wraparound services Medicaid offers. Others voiced fear for seniors living in nursing homes who may lose the only roof over their heads.
These stories are incredibly powerful, and I’m doing everything in my power to make Republicans listen. I’ll continue to fight back against their disastrous budget because what it will do to health care is cruel and just plain wrong.
If you’re with me, I hope you’ll chip in to support my work and help us take back the Senate from Republicans in 2026.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
I am not going to let anyone make me forget where I came from or why I got into public service in the first place.
So long as you're with me, I know we can overcome any challenge we may face and stop the Republicans from taking away health insurance from millions of Americans.
Thank you for standing with me.
— Tammy
