| | | Dear John, These times are full of monumental successes and setbacks. On March 31, Yellowhammer Fund won their lawsuit against the Alabama attorney general, allowing them to continue supporting Alabamians traveling out of state for abortion care. They funded their first client within the hour. Just a few weeks later, Justice + Joy National Collaborative, alongside 347 additional organizations, lost their federal funding – effective immediately. We were honored to recognize the leaders of these two organizations, Yellowhammer Fund Executive Director Jenice Fountain and Justice + Joy National Collaborative President Jeannette Pai-Espinosa, at our 2025 Women of Vision Awards, at a time when grassroots organizations are facing unprecedented challenges and change. At a time when the work these organizations do isn’t just essential, it’s lifesaving. At a time when uncertainty has too much of philanthropy and too many individuals hesitant to support organizations on the front lines of the fight to safeguard our rights. Now is the moment to be bold and unwavering in your support of grassroots leaders, organizations, and movements. I leave you with words from Jeannette: “My call to action to all of you is tomorrow when you get up, figure out what you're going to do to save democracy and justice. And do it. And then do it more and then do it more, and then do it again.” In solidarity, P.S. If you’d like to learn more about our incredible grantee partner honorees, you can do so here! |

| | | Our 2025 Women of Vision Awards brought us community, joy, and a much-needed reminder of the real-life superheroes fighting for our rights. This year’s theme, “Celebrating Our Collective P.O.W.E.R.” stands for the work we do Providing Opportunities, Wins, Equity, and Relationships to strengthen feminist movements. It was a profoundly powerful evening, bringing together activists, leaders, and supporters across generations, communities, and movements. We were proud to present Woman of Vision awards to Jeannette Pai-Espinosa, president of Justice + Joy National Collaborative; Jenice Fountain, executive director of Yellowhammer Fund; and singer, actress, and philanthropist Lynda Carter. Win With Black Women, a collective of intergenerational, intersectional Black women leaders, received the Marie C. Wilson Award, and actress Alaqua Cox was honored with the Free to Be You and Me Award. Check out event highlights and read more about what each honoree had to say in our latest blog!
