Hi there,

I’m sorry to email so early, but I just finished helping Davis and Sam get ready for the day, so I figured I’d take this time to reach out.

In just a couple days, our team will face an end-of-month fundraising deadline — and it’s a big one. If we reach our goal before the Saturday deadline, we’ll prove that we have the power to take on every attack Mike Johnson throws our way.

My team told me that we need to raise $7,407 before Saturday night. Can you pitch in whatever you can to help us close the gap?

I understand how difficult it is to watch Donald Trump’s personal, devastating attacks on regular families across the country. Because he’s targeting families just like mine.

I was born into a working class family here in Colorado. My mom was a hairdresser, and my dad worked in construction. And for many years, we struggled to make ends meet. We leaned on SNAP benefits to put food on the table, and my mom relied on Medicaid to pay her hospital bills.

As we all witness Donald Trump threaten to cut Medicaid, slash SNAP benefits, and gut VA funding, it is perfectly reasonable to feel heartbroken for our neighbors and our communities right now.

But I urge you not to let that feeling turn into hopelessness. Because that’s exactly how Donald Trump wants us to feel.

Instead, we can do what the American people have always done when our freedoms are under threat: Stand up, speak out, and fight back.

That’s what I did when I served in the Colorado legislature, passing impactful legislation to lower health care costs, expand access to affordable child care, and address the opioid epidemic. Now, I’m taking that fight to Congress to deliver meaningful results to families whose needs too often go overlooked.

I refuse to sit quietly and let Donald Trump take a wrecking ball to the support systems that so many families rely on, like Medicaid, Social Security, and Head Start. Instead, I’m fighting back each and every day — because the actions we take right now will impact our country for generations to come.

So what do you say? Will you chip in today to help me push back against Donald Trump’s agenda and keep fighting in Congress for regular families?
