Judge says Musk must face lawsuit over his role in DOGE

  • A federal judge greenlit a lawsuit challenging Elon Musk’s position in the federal government and DOGE as unconstitutional, finding that the faux-agency’s efforts to slash the government likely violate the Appointments Clause of the Constitution.

The latest in the fight for Section 2 of the VRA

  • Plaintiffs in a North Dakota legislative redistricting case are asking the entire 8th Circuit to review a three-judge panel's decision finding that there is no private right of action under Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act (VRA). North Carolina welcomes Trump admin lawsuit over voter rolls

  • North Carolina's elections board, now under GOP control, responded to the lawsuit filed against it Tuesday by the Trump administration, which accused the board of failing to collect required information from people registering to vote.

  • The failure to collect the information has been "well documented," said the board's executive director, Sam Hayes, a former Republican legislative aide. "Rest assured that I am committed to bringing North Carolina into compliance with federal law.”

Hearings coming up tomorrow

  • A hearing is scheduled in a lawsuit challenging DOGE's access to Office of Personnel Management records.

  • An appellate court will hear arguments in a case challenging the use of certain touch screen voting machines in New York elections.
