Our action last week protesting Trump’s dinner for top investors in his crypto memecoin was a huge success!

Our Revolution teamed up with Public Citizen and Indivisible to mobilize over 100 people to the gates of the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, VA. We confronted the mostly foreign attendees – who collectively paid Trump over $200 million to attend – with signs and chants calling out this obvious presidential grift of selling access to the rich that undermines our democracy. The action drew international press coverage in the New York Times, the BBC, the Independent, CNN and even Crypto News. Thanks to all who were able to attend and otherwise support this action!

NEXT WEEK, on Thursday June 5, we are going to Capitol Hill to continue the fight against crypto corruption! The GENIUS Act now before Congress is a gift to the very folks who dined with Trump last week. The bill fails to adequately protect consumers, police illicit trading of stablecoins, or to address the clear conflict of interest of the Trump family using his presidency to line their own pockets via memecoins. It puts our financial systems at risk by removing walls between banking and crypto assets. Last week it advanced in the Senate via a 69-31 procedural vote which outrageously included a yes vote from our local Senators Angela Alsobrooks & Mark Warner! I will send more details later this week about about our June 5 Lobby Day.
