When RFK Jr. was appointed Secretary of Health and Human Services by Donald Trump, we knew things would get bad. But the last few weeks have shown us just how far this man is willing to use his position to push conspiracy theories and sow distrust in science he clearly doesn’t understand.

Earlier this month, RFK Jr. ordered a review of mifepristone — a safe, FDA-approved medication used in medical abortion for over two decades. He justified this move with a flimsy, non-peer-reviewed report from a conservative think tank.

Now, RFK Jr. has directed the CDC to remove the COVID-19 vaccine from the immunization schedule for healthy children and pregnant women — despite evidence of its safety and effectiveness. He’s putting paranoia over science, and making it harder for families to make healthy choices.

We can — and should — blame RFK Jr. for all this, but he didn’t get here on his own. Donald Trump put him in power, and the Republican Party is standing behind him every step of the way.

Diana has spent her career standing up for science and reproductive freedom. She’s calling this what it is: a direct attack on truth and on the people who depend on these protections.
