Washington, D.C. | www.mpac.org | May 28, 2025 — In response to the targeting of Mosques in Los Angeles, CA, and Austin, TX, the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) stands in unwavering support of the impacted communities. These coordinated attacks are part of a disturbing rise in anti-Muslim hate that threatens the safety and dignity of our communities. MPAC remains steadfast in our commitment to confront this hate, protect our sacred spaces, and ensure that no community is left to face these threats alone.
Given the striking similarities between the attacks, we are calling for a federal investigation to determine whether there is any coordination or connection between the perpetrators. We have formally requested the Department of Justice (DOJ) to take immediate action and are calling on the FBI to investigate these incidents as serious civil rights violations and targeted assaults on places of worship. Failing to act decisively could signal a dangerous neglect of one of our nation’s most sacred constitutional protections: the freedom of religion.
