Hi John, it's Charlie Dingman, the Chair of the Maine Democratic Party.
We've had our hands full this month at Maine Dems. Paul LePage officially launched his bid for Congress, the Trump administration continued to assault basic rights while dismantling vital government programs to support tax cuts for the rich, and Maine Republicans geared up their campaign to make it harder for many Mainers to vote via a voter suppression referendum that will be on our ballots this November.
We've launched on-the-ground projects to respond to these threats. To expand them, we could really use your help ahead of our end-of-month fundraising deadline. Before I get into it, could you chip in $9 to help us meet our goal?

Let me share some quick updates, so you can see why your support is so needed.
→ Paul LePage, who refers to Trump as his " friend in the White House," formally announced his run in Maine's 2nd district. LePage already has a long track record of selling out Mainers when he served as Governor, and his support for Trump's corrupt and destructive administration would be disastrous.
→Mainers will be voting in November on a referendum designed by Republicans to hobble our absentee ballot system and make other changes that will make voting more difficult for many, especially older Mainers, those with low incomes, and multiple work schedules, and others who find it hard to get to polling places. It's estimated that if it passes, it could result in a loss of 13,000 Democratic votes across the state.
We can't let the MAGA movement take control in our state! That's why, with your help, we're already putting boots on the ground to engage voters and are looking for a field office space in Bangor. With additional support now, we can add a new Field Director to work specifically on the campaign to defeat the referendum and save our absentee balloting system.
Our team is on the ground, working tirelessly to ensure Mainers are informed, to connect with communities across the state, and to build the organization we will need to decisively defeat those who want to roll back our rights and harm those in need to enrich those who are already wealthy.
With a contribution ahead of our May deadline, you can help us combat voter suppression in Maine and keep LePage as far from Congress as possible. Are you in?

Thanks, John!
