Donald Trump just doubled down on plans to divert $45 million in taxpayer
dollars toward tanks rolling down streets to celebrate himself – boasting
that his massive birthday tank parade will eclipse the Olympics and World
Cup.

This isn't patriotism – it's a dangerous combination of ego and wasteful
military spectacle at taxpayers' expense. But as Trump dreams of a parade
the world didn't ask for, the fact is CONGRESS still controls the purse
strings.

Congress is forced to listen when thousands of constituents speak out
