Trump’s 2025 budget is nothing short of an attack on working families, slashing $700 billion in funding for Medicaid, $500 billion for Medicare, and $267 billion for SNAP.

These cuts aren’t about reining in federal spending – they fund massive tax cuts to corporations and a record-breaking $1 trillion Pentagon budget packed full of handouts to legacy defense contractors.

Healthcare and food assistance for millions shouldn’t take a backseat to corporate handouts. Period.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, this budget will create the most significant transfer of wealth from the poorest to the wealthiest in our nation’s history. When I introduced an amendment to protect healthcare coverage for more than 38 million children receiving Medicaid, Republicans rejected it.

We can’t move forward with policies that strip health coverage and food assistance for our most vulnerable. This bill is not just reckless—it’s downright cruel.
