John,
Last week, House Republicans passed what Donald Trump is calling his “Big,
Beautiful Bill” — by a single vote. They waited until 3 am to debate it,
and it’s not hard to see why.
This bill would kick millions of people off their health care and slash
SNAP benefits — staggering cuts made to critical programs in order to
supercharge tax breaks for the super rich.
These are the wrong priorities. Folks aren’t asking for handouts to CEOs
and billionaires. They’re asking for lower housing costs, for their
personal freedoms to be protected, and for us to protect our natural
environment. This bill doesn’t do any of that. Instead it turns its back
on the everyday Americans we in Congress have sworn an oath to serve.
Now this bill is heading to the Senate for a vote. This is exactly why the
GOP is hoping to expand their majority in 2026 — so they can pass even
more devastating cuts than those in this bill — all in the name of helping
the already-wealthy instead of everyday people.
I’m running to stop them. I’ll never stop fighting to protect health care,
food assistance, and other critical programs that regular folks need to
live a dignified life. [ [link removed] ]If you're with me in this fight, I'm asking you
