Great Lakes and Fresh Water Week webinar

People and the Great Lakes: Building connections and local stewardship

June 4, 2025 1:00 - 2:30 PM

Each year, Michigan proclaims Great Lakes and Fresh Water Week (GLFWW) to raise awareness of the Great Lakes and Michigan’s inland waterways and groundwater. This year, GLFWW runs May 31 to June 8, and will be a time to reflect on the interconnectedness between Michiganders and the matchless water resources around us.

Please join EGLE and its partners for this webinar that will include a series of speakers highlighting and celebrating the strong connection between the Great Lakes and those who live in their watershed, as well as sharing available resources and opportunities to become a Great Lakes Steward and learn more about the Great Lakes. Join EGLE’s Office of the Great Lakes and EGLE Classroom, Michigan State University Extension, Michigan Sea Grant & the Center for Great Lakes Literacy, and the Library of Michigan in celebrating Great Lakes and Fresh Water Week in a virtual panel of professionals sharing how to learn and explore within the Laurentian Great Lakes, connect with the traits and identity of your local watershed, and engage in local stewardship efforts.
