Millions of women across the entire U.S. South no longer have access to reproductive healthcare. There is only one state left in the region where abortion is still legal and accessible: Virginia.

That’s why, at Her Bold Move, we’re committed to electing pro-choice women to Virginia’s House of Delegates who will work to protect abortion access for the women who live in Virginia – as well as the women who are living in the neighboring abortion ban states.

There is one particularly critical race for this decision-making body happening THIS YEAR: Jessica Anderson for the Virginia House of Delegates, 71st District. We couldn’t be prouder to announce our official endorsement of her candidacy.

Trump LOST this district last November! That means there is a BIG opportunity to officially flip this important seat from red to blue.

Jessica nearly won this seat in 2023. Although Her Bold Move was proud to stand with her that year, she did not have a lot of other institutional or financial support. Despite being outspent almost 2:1, she was just 667 votes shy of winning.

Jessica’s race is rated one of the top 3 most competitive in Virginia this cycle, and even though she has a lot more support than she had the first time around, she will need all the help she can get to close the gap and win in November. Jessica’s Republican opponent, incumbent Delegate Batten, is not well-known or well-liked and has been called one of the most far-right MAGA members of the GOP.

Just this year alone, Del. Batten voted against an amendment to enshrine abortion access, against a bill that would prohibit the Board of Medicine from taking disciplinary action against a doctor based on abortion care, and against protecting access to BIRTH CONTROL.

Jessica wants to ensure that women have full control over their reproductive destiny, access to paid family and medical leave, and access to affordable childcare. The choice is clear, but to ensure that Jessica has what she needs to win one of the most competitive races of the year, she needs our help.
