John,
Disaster season used to have a start and end date. Now? It’s year-round, and we’re less prepared than ever.
Thanks to Donald Trump’s crusade against public agencies, the very systems designed to warn Americans about incoming storms are underfunded, understaffed, and in some cases, no longer operational.
Here are a few examples of the chaos Trump has caused to our disaster readiness operations:
* The National Weather Service is scrambling to fill over 150 vacancies across the country right as NOAA predicts a higher-than-average number of hurricanes this season.
* In California’s Central Valley, more than 7 million people have lost access to 24-hour severe weather alerts.
* Trump won Kentucky by over 600,000 votes in November. His gift to them? Defunding the weather office that issues tornado warnings and eliminating overnight staffing.
This is unacceptable, NAME/friend. Our SEEC members in Congress are fighting to restore the funding and staffing Trump eliminated, but they can only do so much without your support. Will you chip in today to help us bring peace of mind and safety back to our states? [[link removed]]
DONATE [[link removed]]When deadly tornadoes ripped through Kentucky last week, killing 19 people, it was pure chance that the local National Weather Service office was still staffed. If those tornadoes hit just a few hours later — after midnight — there would’ve been no staff to issue the warnings that saved countless lives.
These cuts are reckless and cruel, and people will die if we allow this to go any further, John.
Please, help us power the fight. Will you chip in to help SEEC PAC hold Trump and his enablers accountable for dismantling our disaster preparedness systems? [[link removed]]

These services were cut knowing disaster season was coming. Let’s make sure the voters who trusted him know exactly what it cost.
