The Congressional Black Caucus has always been known as the “Conscience of Congress” — and nowhere is that more apparent than how Yvette’s colleagues are standing up to Donald Trump.
Earlier this month, CBC members Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman and LaMonica McIver used their legal right as members of Congress to inspect an immigration detention facility. Congressional oversight is just part of the job, especially in the face of egregious, illegal violations by the Trump administration.
Now, the President and his lackeys are weaponizing the Justice Department to charge and arrest Yvette’s colleagues, all because they stood up for the freedoms of their constituents.
Friend, these charges and threats aren’t just bogus, they’re dangerous. Their intimidation of members of Congress, local leaders, the federal workforce, or anyone who stands up against the Trump regime is putting us on the pathway to a dictatorship.
But that doesn’t mean we’ll stop fighting. In 2026, we’ll flip the House— and Yvette and the CBC are leading the charge with their recruitment of strong Black candidates across the country.
