Team,
After Mississippi’s proposed State Senate map was rejected because it knowingly suppressed Black voters in DeSoto County, federal judges finally approved the redrawn map.
While this is a step in the right direction, the battle for fair and equal representation is far from over.
Attacks on our democratic process are ramping up with Trump back in the White House and Republicans in control of Congress — especially in states like Mississippi, where gerrymandering and voter suppression are baked into the system. The fight over Mississippi’s Senate map is a stark reminder of the need to speak out against voter suppression and fight for fair and representative districts.
Groundwork Project is standing shoulder to shoulder with local organizers and pro-voting lawmakers who are fighting to make a real difference in their communities. Your support helps us amplify their voices and make sure they have the resources they need to fight for fair representation.
With attacks on our democracy growing by the day, the time to act is now. Can you stand with us in our fight for fair districts and equal representation by adding your name to our petition today? [[link removed]]
