Team,

If you know a healthcare professional or have been in an emergency room yourself, you know how important nurses are. They work long hours to give patients the care they deserve.

But right now, our nation is undergoing a major nurse staffing crisis: Registered Nurses are being forced to care for too many patients at one time — leading to preventable health complications and risking lives.

That’s why, in honor of National Nurses Month, I reintroduced legislation to stand with our nurses. The legislation would…

🏥Establish registered nurse-to-patient ratios in hospitals
🏥Provide whistleblower protections for nurses advocating for their patients
🏥Invest in training and career development to retain hardworking nurses

If you agree that we need to stand with our nurses, will you add your name to my petition today? Passing this bill will help us support our nurses and improve patient care.

The registered nursing staffing crisis is putting our patients at risk, especially in communities of color. Luckily, we don’t have to look too far for a solution.

In 1999, the California Nurses Association passed the only enforceable nurse-to-patient safe staffing law in the country. The numbers speak for itself: California’s mandatory ratio has helped decrease nurse burnout, increase quality of care, and saved lives.

Now, it’s on us to stand with our nurses and bring this standard nationwide.

Please add your name to stand with me in support of bolstering our nursing workforce. It’s long overdue that we put patients over profits and get our nurses the support they deserve.
