Here’s an update from our campaign:
** Honoring our Heroes
------------------------------------------------------------
On Memorial Day, we remember and honor the more than 1 million ([link removed]) U.S. service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
For 250 years ([link removed]) , since “the shot heard ‘round the world” rang out at the Battles of Lexington and Concord, our brave men and women in uniform have protected our nation and our freedom.
Today, I joined ceremonies and parades in Burlington and Rochester to commemorate these heroes and honor their legacy.

These include heroes like Staff Sergeant Ralph Bode ([link removed]) , a Washington Park High School graduate, who enlisted to fight in WWII and was shot down over Kassel, Germany in 1944.
SSG Bode’s remains were thought lost until last year ([link removed]) , when the Department of Defense positively identified him.
** Reconciliation Passes the House
------------------------------------------------------------
Last week, I voted to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act that will help secure our border, put working families first, and eliminate fraud and wasteful spending.
* Secures our border
+ Builds 700 miles of new border wall
+ Funds 8,000 new border and customs officers
+ Expands ICE detention centers
* Strengthens Medicaid and removes fraud from the program
+ Requires citizenship verification
+ Removes ineligible recipients
+ Institutes work requirements for able-bodied adults
* Makes it easier for working families to make ends meet
+ Prevents a $1,500 tax increase
+ New $4,000 deduction for seniors
+ Preserves Child Tax Credit
House Republicans were able to institute these reforms while protecting Social Security and Medicare, putting American families over illegal immigrants.
This bill now heads to the Senate for passage.
