Hi John,
You pushed Prime Minister Mark Carney to commit to holding a budget this year.
In our last survey you told us that the government needs to hold a budget every year.
So, we went to work.
Your CTF Federal Director Franco Terrazzano was doing interviews with media across the country, slamming Ottawa for refusing to present a budget.
“You can’t be credible with the finances if you can’t even bother to put together a budget,” said Franco to the Toronto Sun.
“A budget is the biggest time of the year where Canadians and taxpayers can actually look into the state of our finances,” said Franco in an interview with Rebel News.
And you got a win.
Shortly after, Carney promised that the government would present a budget later this year.
It’s such an important win because the budget is the time of year when taxpayers get to look at and criticize how the government is spending taxpayer money every year.
Canadians agree that this is important. Tax fighters like you stepped up and commissioned a poll asking Canadians if they thought the feds should have a budget every year.
68 per cent of Canadians said YES.
The next step in the fight is to push the government in the budget to cut spending and stop increasing the debt and wasting billions on debt interest payments. Right now, debt interest payments are costing taxpayers more than $1 billion per week.
You can get prepared for that fight by signing the petition calling on Ottawa to stop borrowing money and racking up debt.
Will you sign the PETITION to call on the federal government to stop racking up debt?

Great work on getting the government to commit to a budget so quickly – it’s an important win for taxpayers.
