Every Memorial Day, we honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country in the Armed Forces.

The United States has faced threats both at home and abroad, but our servicemembers have answered the call of duty every time to keep our country safe. Today, I will be surrounded by family and will be thankful for the freedoms that we enjoy thanks to the sacrifices that brave servicemembers have made. I hope you are able to do the same.

Servicemembers put their lives on the line when they volunteer to join our Armed Forces, and it’s up to us to support them when they return. I promise to continue doing what I can in Congress to support greater resources and aid for veterans and their families.

The sacrifices our servicemembers make don’t end when they leave active duty, and neither should our work to support them.
