National Domestic Workers Alliance

============================

It’s Memorial Day—a time of reflection, remembrance, and gratitude.

While many of us mark this long weekend with family, food, and rest, we also hold space for the deeper meaning of the day: honoring those who gave their lives in service. It’s a powerful reminder of sacrifice, community, and the work still ahead to build a country that truly cares for all who call it home .

As June barrels toward us and the summer season picks up speed—plans, travel, and all the rest—we’re taking a moment to pause and check in.

Because even in this season of sunshine and slowing down, we know the world feels noisy, uncertain, and stretched thin. But here’s what remains clear: the care movement is still here. Still fighting. Still holding each other up .

Before summer fully sweeps us away, we want to hear from you:

What’s on your heart? What do you need from this movement right now?

Take our short survey and let us know [[link removed]] . Your voice will help shape what comes next.

No matter what this season brings, we’re building a future rooted in care, together.

Thanks for all that you do,

The majority of domestic workers sit at the center of some of our nation’s most decisive issues because of who they are and what they do: they are women – mostly women of color, immigrants, mothers, and low-wage workers. They are impacted by almost every policy affecting the future of our economy, democracy and country.

Domestic workers can lead us toward a new, inclusive vision for the future for all of us -- and your grassroots support is the fuel that can get us there.
