This Memorial Day, I join Americans across the country in remembering and honoring the brave American men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our country and our freedom.
We can honor their memories and their sacrifice by carrying on their fight for our country, our values, and our democracy. And we need to do that now, in every way we can.
Over the last several months, I have been reading and listening to histories of our country and thoughtful analyses of the moment we are living in. The stories are compelling, inspiring, and sobering. It is clear that in this moment, all our veterans have fought and sacrificed so much for—including their lives—is under attack.
In 2025, we have seen overwhelming efforts to undermine the core functions of our government, the separation of powers, and the rule of law itself. We cannot let them succeed. Too many people have sacrificed too much for us to let this happen. We must come together as Americans. We do that by engaging with one another as often as we can, by continuing to work together in all the ways we can, making our voices heard in all the places we can, and by standing up for our freedom—freedom generations of servicemen and women have fought and died for.
Let’s do our part to carry on their commitment to, and belief in, our country.
Together, we can do anything,
