On Memorial Day, we reflect on sacrifice, service, and the values they defended.
Dear friend,
This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave service members who gave their lives in defense of our country. We remember them not only for their courage, but for the values they swore to protect — freedom, justice, and democracy.
For many Virginians, today is personal. It’s a day of reflection. A day of grief. A day to remember loved ones lost too soon, and to lift up the families who carry their memory forward.
As Chairman, I want to say clearly: We will never forget the cost of the freedoms we enjoy, and we’ll never stop working to ensure those freedoms are extended equally to every American.
Whether you’re observing today quietly or gathering with loved ones, I hope you’ll join me in reflecting on the legacy of those we’ve lost and recommitting ourselves to a more just and inclusive future in their honor.
In remembrance,
Sen. Lamont Bagby
Chairman
Democratic Party of Virginia
