John,



I hope that you have been able to spend some time this holiday weekend with
your friends and your family, since our lives are made meaningful by those we
hold dear. On this Memorial Day, I also hope you will join me in a moment of
reflection for those who were willing to serve and make the final sacrifice to
defend our freedom.



Throughout our history, our fellow citizens have been willing to give
everything so others may live in a nation where faith, freedom, and justice
prevail.



Today, we honor their loss as a reminder of the true cost of freedom. Let us
reflect upon their selfless sacrifice and show our gratitude by upholding the
principles of individual liberty that they fought to protect.
