I saw this quote today, and it sums up Memorial Day for me.

"Our flag does not fly because the wind moves it. It flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it." — Unknown

I grew up in a military family in which soldiers were honored. My father served. My uncles, My grandfathers, too. And now, my stepfather, who joined our family about a decade ago.

It's how they showed their love and respect for our country.

Most of them are gone now, not in military service, but over time. I think they'd be sad to see the disrespect and even hatred some in our younger generations have for America.

Memorial Day isn't just about barbecues, sales, and a paid day off. It's about blood, soul, and honor.

Today, we will take time to remember our ancestors who served and those to whom we have no relation who gave everything that we might be free.

Other stuff

Speaking of sales, Amazon's Memorial Day sale ends today. It's your last chance to take advantage of these sales for preppers. Go HERE to check it out in case you missed the post earlier.

I gave an update yesterday on some exciting news about a move - you can read it here if you missed it. That post comes complete with some phenomenal deals on products!

It's absolutely POURING rain here, so we will skip the cookout and work on getting packed for our rapidly upcoming move.

I hope that your day is filled with pride for your country, the people you love, and time spent doing what you enjoy.

Stay safe.

Be happy.

Love,

Daisy
