On April 24th, a woman in Louisiana was deported—along with her seven-year-old daughter and four-year-old son.
Both children are U.S. citizens.
And the four-year-old boy is battling stage 4 cancer.
Last week, I questioned Secretary Kristi Noem before Congress. Under oath, she claimed to have documentation that the mother had consented to the deportation of her U.S. citizen children to Honduras. She has yet to produce a single page.
Let’s be absolutely clear:
The family’s attorney has publicly confirmed that the mother explicitly asked ICE not to deport her children — and never gave consent for their removal.
This family was denied access to legal counsel before being deported. Their lawyer was in the same building — but ICE carried out the deportation anyway.
During her confirmation, Secretary Noem said her focus would be on deporting individuals convicted of crimes with existing removal orders. That’s not what’s happening.
Instead, she’s deporting children with cancer. U.S. citizen children.
Rather than targeting serious threats, she’s targeting sick toddlers. Rather than upholding due process, she’s flying around the country, playing dress-up for cable news.
This cannot stand.
We must change course—immediately—before more innocent children are harmed on Secretary Noem’s watch. [[link removed]]
