The Lincoln Project

Friend,

Why did Trump make this bill so big?

Well, for a couple reasons.

First, he knows this is probably his only chance to pass something before we whoop his ass in 2026 and take away all of his power.

Second, he’s probably the laziest president we’ve ever had (except when it comes to planning an insurrection).

And third, if the bill is big enough, it’s easy to hide stuff.

Reading isn’t MAGA’s strong suit, so most of them will probably skip over this little nugget:

"No court of the United States may use appropriated funds to enforce a contempt citation for failure to comply with an injunction or temporary restraining order if no security was given when the injunction or order was issued,"

In short, this means that if Trump does something crooked, he and his administration are immune from contempt of court. It literally allows Trump to completely ignore court rulings.

What a load of crap.

For anybody still wondering if he was serious, he absolutely was. This is another stop on the way to becoming a full blown dictator. It’s up to us to stop him.

Believe it or not, there’s still a chance this bill doesn’t make it. And showing the country that this provision exists in Trump’s 1,000-page bill can only make our chances of stopping this thing better.

Help us tell America what Trump’s really up to >>
