** BREAKING: DOJ Sends Mixed Signals On Suppressors In US v. Peterson Motion
------------------------------------------------------------
Today the United States Department of Justice filed a new motion in United States v. Peterson revising their stance on suppressors. American Suppressor Association President and Executive Director Knox Williams had this to say in response to the DOJ’s new position, which affirms that suppressors are covered under the Second Amendment, but are still subject to the unconstitutional National Firearms Act tax scheme.
“While we applaud the DOJ’s acknowledgement that SUPPRESSORS ARE PROTECTED BY THE SECOND AMENDMENT, it’s clear there is still much work to be done aligning career DOJ prosecutors with President Trump’s strong position in favor of Second Amendment rights.”
“The ASA will not stop until the entire DOJ recognizes the simple fact that suppressors, like car mufflers, are far more useful to law abiding Americans than to criminals.”
— Knox Williams, ASA President & Executive Director
