I won’t sugar coat it: This was a difficult week in Washington.

Republicans just passed their cruel budget that prioritizes tax breaks for the wealthy at the expense of seniors, veterans, children, and working families.

The current bill would kick 8.6 million people off their health care, primarily via attacks on Medicaid, plus another 5.1 million by not renewing support for ACA premiums that will expire this year. That’s 13.7 million Americans who are in danger of losing their health care coverage.

So let’s be clear: this isn’t about fiscal responsibility. It’s about slashing funds and benefits from working families to finance huge tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations.

I’m fighting every day in Congress to deliver real, commonsense solutions that benefit folks in red states as well as blue states; rural areas as well as urban areas; Republican voters as well as Democratic voters. If you’re with me, will you chip in $10 today to help protect my seat?
