As the City of Harker Heights moves into WCID #1’s Stage 4 Water Restrictions beginning Sunday, May 26th at 10:00 PM, we want to take a moment to highlight a few local businesses that will be significantly impacted by this mandate. Due to the nature of their services and reliance on water, the following businesses will have to temporarily close during the restrictions:
These business owners have been proactive in working closely with the City to ensure a smooth and cooperative transition during this period. We deeply value their partnership and understanding. We’re calling on our community to show their support. Consider visiting these businesses before the restrictions go into effect, and again once they are lifted. While the restrictions are currently set to end by Friday, the timeline may adjust depending on water availability and conservation efforts. We recognize that many local businesses will feel the impact of this stage, but water-intensive operations such as laundromats and car washes are among the hardest hit. Your support, both now and after the restrictions, can make a meaningful difference. Know of other businesses forced to temporarily close due to the restrictions? Please share them in the comments below. Thank you for helping us support our neighbors, conserve water, and come through this as a stronger, united community.
