Adam Schiff for Senate

John,

In just a few weeks, I’m participating in the AIDS/LifeCycle ride, and I’m hoping you’ll consider pitching in to support the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center today.

You can chip in through my link here — 100% of the proceeds go toward these important organizations.

John, I’ve done this ride before.

You may not know this, but I was the first member of Congress to participate in the ride back in 2014, and now, I’m going to be the first U.S. Senator to do the ride in early June. In 2014, I did the whole 540 mile ride, but with votes during the week of the ride, this year I will only be able to participate in the first 80 mile leg.

From San Francisco to Los Angeles, bikers from around the world ride through the beautiful California countryside for a worthwhile cause: supporting the LGBTQ+ community, helping young people experiencing homelessness, and taking a stand against the stigma of HIV.

Bay Area Reporter: Schiff aims to be 1st US Senator to do CA AIDS ride

I’ve long championed the LGBTQ+ community — from participating in this bike ride to passing legislation to expand access to lifesaving HIV medications — I’m doing all I can to lift people up.

This cause is dear to me, as I’m following in the footsteps of my predecessor, the late Senator Dianne Feinstein, who was also a champion for LGBTQ+ Americans.

The first time I did this ride, it was deeply meaningful – and fun.

From so many of the other riders, I heard their stories, of loss, and of hope. Those they were riding in remembrance of, and those they were still fighting for.

It was one of the most moving weeks I’ve had as a public servant (in more ways than one). And I’m excited to do it again.

That’s why I’m asking:

Will you chip in to support the LGBTQ+ organizations sponsoring this ride and help me raise funds and awareness for the LGBTQ+ community?

Thank you — I’ll keep you posted on my ride!
