1. IRS Nationwide Tax Forum: Seminar listing available The seminar listing for the 2025 IRS Nationwide Tax Forum is now available. Highlights include:
Register now and take advantage of the Early Bird rate (available until 5 p.m. June 10). 2. IRS U.S. taxpayers living, working abroad must file 2024 tax return by June 16 deadline The IRS encourages taxpayers living and working abroad to file their 2024 federal income tax return and pay any tax due by Monday, June 16, 2025. The deadline applies to both U.S. citizens and resident aliens abroad, including those with dual citizenship. 3. News from the Justice Department’s Tax Division A New Jersey man pleaded guilty to preparing false tax returns for clients. According to court documents and statements made in court, Vito A. Pascarella prepared, and caused to be prepared, false tax returns for clients. Pascarella reported false wage numbers, falsely reported that taxpayers owned and operated businesses that they did not own or operate, and he falsely reported that those purported businesses earned gross receipts and incurred business expenses that they did not. He caused a tax loss to the IRS of over $550,000.
