John,
In crisis zones around the world, mothers are making extraordinary sacrifices to keep their children safe—and many need help now more than ever. From Gaza to Myanmar to Sudan, mothers in crisis demonstrate remarkable resilience in the face of unimaginable hardship. Their strength is extraordinary—but they shouldn't have to face these challenges alone.
The International Rescue Committee is on the ground right now, working alongside mothers to deliver lifesaving support—clean water, medical care, cash assistance, and protection—through the world's worst humanitarian crises. But the need is still immense.
To help meet urgent needs, your gift today will be MATCHED dollar-for-dollar, rushing critical support to twice as many mothers, children and families in crisis zones.

📍 GAZA

In Gaza, 29-year-old mother Alaa Ahmad Abdulkareem plays with her daughter, 10-month-old Rose, who has been receiving nutrition care from the IRC.
As a mother of five children ranging in age from 10 years to 7 months, Alaa has her hands full—especially now. Since being displaced five times due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, her focus is on ensuring her children have the bare essentials to make it through each day.
Alaa's youngest daughter was diagnosed with malnutrition and received nutritional support through the IRC's clinic. Alaa received nutrition counseling from Rowida, a nutrition officer for the IRC.
"I try my best to keep them warm, to no avail."

Than Zin Thwe and her baby at the free clinic run by the IRC mobile medical team.
24-year-old mother Than Zin Thwe brought her baby to an IRC-run free clinic after a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar that left her family struggling to survive.
"The prices of basic goods have increased almost three times since the earthquake, so it is a struggle for us to make ends meet."
When her 9-month-old baby became ill with diarrhea, there were no medicine shops open in the town. The IRC's free mobile medical team provided the care and medicine her child needed—relieving a heavy burden at a time when her family's income had disappeared.
📍 SUDAN

Almas sits with her family inside their tent in the Gedaref camp, Sudan.
Almas, a 29-year-old mother of three, fled to Sudan after her family was forced to leave everything behind in Ethiopia.
"I just wanted my children to live," she says. "I just took my children and two pieces of clothing and left. I didn't take anything else."
When her young son became acutely malnourished, IRC doctors stepped in to provide urgent treatment. After three weeks of care, she watched him steadily regain weight and begin to recover.
Please give today. Your urgently needed gift will be immediately MATCHED to bring 2X the support—and 2X times the hope—to mothers like Alaa, Than, and Almas.
