The Secretary of Defense and his personal pastor stood behind the seal of the Department of Defense and held a prayer service in the Pentagon auditorium during work hours on Monday.

During that prayer service, Donald Trump was acclaimed as a divinely appointed leader.

Yes, that all actually happened. And they want to keep doing it.

Look, we have no issue with Christians in the Military. We have no quarrel with chapels and churches and chaplains and the observance of religion within the Military, even on base.

What we have a problem with is that the Secretary of Defense is clearly endorsing his radical brand of Christianity over other religions.

This is what Hegseth’s culture war is really about. Force the Military and those within it to observe his brand of extremist Christianity, swear fealty to Trump, or face the consequences. Anyone else — Muslim, Sikh, Jewish, Hindu, even other Christian denominations — is clearly meant to feel unwelcome by the Secretary of Defense himself.

Recruitment, unit cohesion, and readiness depend on tolerance — being a valued member of the team because of what you bring to it, not what church you go to. If this continues, it will impact our National Security.

VoteVets has always stood for religious liberty within the ranks. It’s what makes our country great, and our Military the best in the world. We will stand against every effort to favor one religion over another.

We must join together and speak out against Hegseth’s war on freedom of religion.

Tell the Pentagon: Stop favoring Hegseth’s radical brand of Christianity over other religions, and get the Military back to what it does best — keeping us safe.

We have to resist these people as they work to corrupt the Military and bend it to Trump’s will. So much depends upon it.
