Another Friday, another Abortion Access Front recap of this week in the abortionsphere! It’s a rough one—buckle up, friends.

This Bitch AGAIN?
Texas Liberty chimp Chip Roy is pushing his cohorts in the House of Representatives to work fast to pass a bill he introduced to repeal the FACE Act—the ONE law that protects patients and providers from getting harassed, stalked, or physically blocked at abortion clinics.

And now, for this CONSTANT reminder: the anti-abortion movement is violent, but to a J6 denier like Chip Roy, what even is violence, amirite? Without FACE, they’re effectively greenlighting protesters to do whatever tf they want outside of clinics, safety be damned. Which is probably the point. 

Guilty Until Proven Miscarriage
A Texas woman was imprisoned for five months for having a miscarriage. Read that again, and try not to get sick. Jessica Valenti reports that an innocent Texan sat in a jail cell for five months until the County Medical Examiner confirmed she had a miscarriage. When you ban abortion, every pregnant person becomes a potential criminal, and miscarriage marshals from the STATE get to decide whether you meant to lose your pregnancy or not. And for Black women, that means being arrested on vibes, and treated as guilty until proven innocent. If you can read that and not be outraged, you’re probably a really terrible person.

New Feminist Buzzkills Episode: Drops TODAY!
Lizz and Moji are back this week to chat with some incredible guests, and dish on the week’s good, bad, and mostly bad abortion stories! You know—the usual. And, launching from one horrifying topic to another, Moji and Lizz break down the scary grift of maternity homes, and button their convo with best selling author Grady Hendrix about his new incredible new book Witchcraft for Wayward Girls—a horror novel set in a 1970s maternity home that follows the stories of what happened to young girls with unwanted pregnancies before Roe. After reading this, we want every horror novel to have misogyny as the villain!
