Priory
A52 road closures for major improvement works

National Highways, which is responsible for the A52, is beginning a project to upgrade the stretch between Priory Island and QMC Island (see above).

The road surface is coming to the end of its serviceable life, so National Highways will be resurfacing the road and improving drainage and lighting. A combined cycleway and footway on the eastbound side of the A52 will also be added.


* From 19 May to 30 May: overnight closures of this stretch of the A52 from 8pm to 6am, except Sunday nights
* From 6am Monday 28 May for around four months: this stretch of the A52 will only be open eastbound (inbound to the city). Travel westbound (outbound from the city) will not be possible.
