You may have seen our update recently about the rapidly deteriorating conditions in Gaza, where the entire population is now at critical risk of famine — including thousands of infants whose lives are in danger.


Around the globe, children are suffering from malnutrition, war and extreme poverty. It’s been just three months since the U.S. put a halt to a majority of our funding, and I can honestly say it’s felt like years to those of us working around the clock to continue our lifesaving work for children.


I’m continuously amazed and humbled by the passion, perseverance and ingenuity of our colleagues, partners and community members – here and around the world – who continue to dream of a better future for our children.


As you read this email, a record number of children are facing severe, potentially fatal malnutrition. Escalating conflict, displacement and foreign aid cuts are all taking a toll on children’s health, access to food, safety and security.

In Gaza, nearly all 1.1 million children are facing a worsening hunger crisis as food has barely entered Gaza in over two months.

In Somalia, an estimated 1.7 million children under 5 are expected to suffer from acute malnutrition by December 2025.

In Sudan, 3.6 million children under the age of 5 are acutely malnourished, while multiple other countries in Africa are on the brink of famine.That’s just three of the many places where children are grappling with intensifying malnutrition, escalating armed conflict and diminishing life-sustaining supplies.

The good news? Malnutrition is completely preventable and, when diagnosed properly and quickly, is treatable. Our teams have been providing lifesaving nutritional support to children for over 100 years.

By simply providing a therapeutic peanut paste along with medical care, we can ensure up to 90% of all critically malnourished children survive and recover.

Humanity cannot let children lose access to this “miracle food.”


Last month, Save the Children leaders around the globe met and set a critical goal to prevent a large-scale tragedy among children. Together, we’re urgently trying to raise $7 million to rush lifesaving courses of ready-to-use therapeutic food to these children.

it costs just $67 to supply one malnourished child with a 6-week course of lifesaving therapeutic treatment . That means each and every one of us can have a HUGE impact.
