John,
Lara Trump, Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, recently attacked me on her right-wing podcast.
She spread the usual lies about my investigation into Trump’s solicitation of help from Russia and his attempted extortion of President Zelenskyy in the first impeachment.
This part I found really rich coming from her, John. She said:
“This person oughta be ashamed of himself. I know he’s not, because it seems as if he doesn’t even have a conscience or any sort of moral guidance whatsoever.”
Really, Lara, you want to attack me about moral compass?
Where is the moral guidance in your father-in-law slashing funding for affordable health care for millions of children around the country?
Or slashing support for children and families who would go hungry without assistance? Or eliminating funding for USAID, which was providing nutritional support to the poorest parts of the world?
How about the moral guidance of your husband, Eric Trump, and his brother, Don Jr., opening an exclusive membership club where, for just the low, low price of $500,000, you can buy unfettered access to high-level Trump officials? Or their new crypto venture with the gulf states, all to cash in on the Trump graft?
Or the moral guidance of the modern GOP, which is more focused on tax cuts for billionaires than lowering costs and providing relief to the millions of Americans struggling to make ends meet?
John, I’m not losing any sleep over Lara Trump calling me out.
But I won’t let her hypocrisy go unanswered.
I’ll continue to hold the whole Trump family accountable to the rule of law and the Constitution that their ring-leader, Donald Trump, swore an oath of office to, but has foresaken.
